APW - Illinois, Bunn Special, Grade 161A, 21J 60 Hour Elinvar, Type IIP marking, 16S, gold-filled OF original Model 118 "pyramid bow" case, white enamel DS dial, SW-LS, fully capped lever escapement, mono-metallic balance with blued Elinvar hairspring, interrupted ray pattern nickel damascene, s#5576878. Comes with its rarely seen original cardboard Bunn Special box with end label having correctly matching serial number to the present watch.
CONDITION:
Mvt: Running, excellent cosmetic mvt condition overall, bright lustrous surfaces, numerous micro-fine scratches to barrel bridge in space across from regulator adjustment screw, micro-fine scratch abrasions tight around right side train bridge screw, few micro-fine scratches elsewhere, case screws with oxide, one small screw on larger winding wheel is a blued replacement; dial with hl below seconds-register near 6, extremely faint hl within center section between center and 10, beveling wear to seconds-register hole causing some enlarging and ovaling of hole visible below seconds-hand; excellent hands, some small bits of oxide to seconds-hand; case shows little wear, profuse micro-fine scratches to rear, very slight shallow mild dent to left-center of rear evident as ripple of reflection; bow pivots freely, crown shows little wear; glass crystal with short scratch at left perimeter; box with areas of finish loss and tattering, some plastic tape along a portion of one side, end label with area of loss at center.
